Chem Plant Project Engineer

Salary: to $115,000/year

    Location: Rural Iowa

    You will be a Project Engineer as part of the leadership team for this anhydrous ammonia plant located in a small town in central Iowa. You will be a part of a project management team for capital asset projects that could range from a few thousand dollars to $2+ Million in size. You will work independently on some projects and with a project manager on others to prepare project conceptual development, front-end engineering, detailed design and construction and continue through post startup project analysis. You will develop packages for engineering, procurement, construction, and develop schedules. The Project Engineer will ensure the project is performed safely and in full compliance with all laws and that it meets defined objectives for production, cost and schedule performance.
  • To Be Considered You Need

    2+ years experience in the process industry in engineering or technical roles relating to process equipment design and/or maintenance or operation

  • Knowledge of typical process industry standards and codes and design practices
  • Ability to work in a matrixed' leadership capacity with other corporate and facility operations personnel
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to identify root project opportunities and work independently to achieve goals
  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited institution OR equivalent experience

  • Preferred

  • Experience in projects engineering
  • Experience in fertilizer industry
  • Operating and maintenance experience
  • Construction management experience
  • Management of programs from a corporate level
  • Experience with project economic analysis is a plus

    Must have the legal right to work indefinitely in the United States
