Job Description

The VP Revenue will be responsible for Revenue Recognition of both domestic and foreign sales contracts involving multiple parties, containing a complex combination of products, professional services, third party procurement, software customization, maintenance elements, reciprocal benefits and performance penalties.

This position will be located in our Corporate, Scottsdale AZ office.

Major Responsibilities

  • Maintain a close working relationship with Sales and other operation personnel on all sales transactions to insure all transactions are recorded in accordance with the Company's Revenue Recognition policies.
  • Build and then manage the large global team while remaining focused on addressing the needs of the business.
  • Manage order to cash process through the Deal Desk.
  • Prepare VSOE analysis.
  • Prepare comprehensive revenue policies ensuring that all relevant facts and circumstances are disclosed and discussed and the appropriate revenue guidance is applied.
  • Review with CAO, CFO and other finance leadership all material revenue transactions.
  • Implement various business process improvements that will streamline and automate the revenue closing process.
  • Review and update as required the Company's revenue recognition policies to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Work closely with the Company's external independent auditors.
  • Effectively manage, lead and mentor a large global organization.

  • Required Skills

  • BA in Accounting or Finance required, MBA preferred
  • CPA Preferred
  • 10-15 years of experience in accounting, revenue accounting and financial experience in a large worldwide public company that excelled at maximizing revenue and minimizing accounting deferrals within the guidelines of GAAP.
  • A Creative, energetic and results-oriented leader who is accustomed to global environments and who is particularly good at balancing multiple priorities and issues. Must have unquestionable integrity and be dedicated to the principles of developing a strong collaborative organization and have well developed coaching and counseling skills. Superior business acumen is essential.
  • Proven leadership, self-confidence, and a solid track record of accomplishments in challenging environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a financial organization through growth or transitions without losing momentum or focus on the key business drivers and issues.
  • Must be positive, principled, and a role model. Must also be a good listener who is skilled at influencing, and be a team player with a balanced ego who is approachable by any person in the organization.
