Production Manager
Production Manager - Irvine, CA To own the operations function tasks including
planning, organizing, directing and controlling the operation activities. The
incumbent will ensure all food preparation and packaging is compliant to the
guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety regulations. They
will also oversee and monitor the performance of the Plant Operations as it
relates to quality, safety, productivity, cost control, service to sales,
employee training and leadership development. ' Participate in the QRMP yearly
audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions. '
Oversee and lead the implementation of the QRMP (Quality Risk Management
Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the factory
accountability list in order to achieve targeted RCR. ' Support all facets of
product quality and food safety processes to ensure that finished product meet
over exceeds internal specification and State/Federal regulatory standards.
Comply with standard operating procedures, audit systems, and record keeping
systems to facilitate process conformance to requirements. Ensure that all
plant personnel have been trained to follow provisions of operating procedures
and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). ' Provide a safe and healthful work
environment for all production personnel through consistent support of the
company's Heinz Safety Process. Oversee safety processes including, but not
limited to, goal setting, hazard recognition, and elimination, administration
of safety procedures and corresponding corrective action, area inspection, job
skills, and compliance training, accident investigation and safety meetings. '
Develop and manage assigned Production Department variable and fixed overhead
budgets. In collaboration with the Factory Manager's staff, envelop annual
direct cost standards for labor, ingredients, materials, supplies, and yields.
Work closely with Production Team staff and other department resources to
identify the most efficient use of plant resources and produce finished
product at a cost equal to or less than established direct cost standards.
Ensure that assigned key production department personnel are trained to
understand the impact of their efforts with respect to fixed variable
overheads and direct costs. ' In collaboration with Production Department team
members and other departments resources, develop production goals on a fiscal
basis for each assigned production area of the plant. Oversee assignment of
operations personnel, equipment operation, and preventative maintenance under
direction of the maintenance department, production scheduling, design and
management of process flow from raw materials to finished product, in order to
minimize downtime and maximize product throughout at the lowest possible cost.
' Assure that required company and State/Federal paperwork is completed
properly and enforced (daily reports, accuracy, lot tracking, HACCP, FDA/USDA
and OSHA requirement. ' Interprets company policies to workers and enforces
policies and safety regulations. ' Manage and evaluate the Production staff
including but not limited to performance management and employee development,
etc. ' Partner with business leaders on implementation of process improvement
(Six Sigma / Lean/Heinz Global Production System (HGPS)), including leading
