Description

This position is responsible for providing data to support hospital wide performance improvement activities, suggesting data queries and customizing measures for special projects. Reviews records using pre-established criteria. Provides data extraction from hospital applications and inputs data into internal and external databases to support publicly reported measures and other performance improvement activities/special projects. This role populates organization wide dashboards and provides timely feedback on compliance with measures. Interprets measure specifications and develops abstraction tools to capture required elements. Performs at level of accuracy to meet or exceed CMS Validation requirements. This position requires an individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills and an understanding of the organizational structures of the Department and the Hospital. QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree required, Bachelor's preferred. Knowledge of ICD-9 CM Codes, DRGs, MS-DRGs, preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel. Strong graphic presentation skills. Familiarity with clinical records and documentation standards across all settings. Minimum of three year's experience in a healthcare/clinical setting.
