Network Technician
Description
- Responsible for alarm surveillance, event management and Tier 1 troubleshooting support.
- CDMA Network Monitoring Service Assurance Tier I support for block/drop KPI metrics. Basic telecom experience, able to multi-task, flexible work hours, this is shift work; nice to have would RF, CDMA or telecom tech background.
- Successful applicants will have the ability to perform effectively in a stressful operational environment, will be enthusiastic, and display an aptitude for learning.
- 24x7 operation, each technician is required and be willing to work any shift (Days, Evenings, or Midnights including holidays and at least one weekend day or night).
- Act as liaison between the Vendor, and internal or external organizations to ensure timely transition of fix and maintenance activities for Service Assurance organizations.
Responsibilities
- Remote corrective actions supporting such as:
- Monitor all functions around the network
- Responsible for alarm surveillance, event management and Tier 1 troubleshooting support.
- Interface/work with repair/restoration of cell site equipment to include power and telco
- Assist field technicians in maintenance of cell site equipment
- Trouble shoot software and hardware issues
- Successful applicants will have the ability to perform effectively in a stressful operational environment, will be enthusiastic, and display an aptitude for learning. Essential: Because we are a 24x7 operation, each technician is required to work five 8 hour days each week and be willing to work any shift (Days, Evenings, or Midnights).
- Perform scheduled maintenance that could include software updates and off hours testing.
- Issue outage reports, trouble tickets, and dispatch market personnel as required
Requirements
- 2 year college degree or equivalent working telecommunications/network experience
- Cell site experience, Lucent 5E/ECP or Nortel MTX/CMS, Surveillance and monitoring systems experience and Wireless NOC experience.
