EMC Back-up Administrator
CCCi has an opportunity for an EMC Back-up Administrator to join our energy client's Enterprise Backup and Recovery team, which provides a world class backup environment for the enterprise. This position requires an experienced backup administrator with extensive knowledge of enterprise backup architectures using EMC Avamar and Networker.
EMC Back-up Administrator Responsibilities
The selected candidate will work with a team of Backup Storage Administrators managing the daily tasks of backups for distributed systems including monitoring all platforms for missed/failed backups, managing capacity in all areas, reviewing activity logs for potential problems and the investigation of hardware/software errors.
This will also include logging internally and opening cases with vendors as necessary.
Responsibilities also include auditing all aspects of data backups to ensure the integrity of the backup environment.
This role is part of a 24x365 backup operations staff with afterhours work and rotating on-call responsibilities.EMC Back-up Administrator Required Qualifications
Must have past experience monitoring, analyzing, and reviewing historical trend data to provide configuration recommendations.
High school diploma required.
TOP 3 Skills Required:
EMC Networker, Replication Manager and Avamar.
At least 5 years of Backup administration experience in a large enterprise environment.
Demonstrated interpersonal and strong communication skills to interact with customers and peers in a timely, tactful, and effective manner.
Ability to direct the work of self and others towards the goals of the team.
Strong understanding of a SAN / NAS.
Proven ability to fine-tune backup, decrease backup times, and optimize scheduling.
Experience backing up Oracle, SQL, Exchange and SharePoint on EMC Avamar and Networker
Experience with EMC Data Domain using VTL, NFS, and CIFS
Experience Data Domain and DDBoost
Ability to identify and troubleshoot root cause of failures.
Past leadership experience working projects with cross functional technical teams.
Experienced with Microsoft, Unix, and Linux based operating systems.EMC Back-up Administrator Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Experience with managing changes in multiple environments and the migration of components while adhering to Change Management Processes.
Experience documenting processes and procedures.
Proficient with Remedy for Change and Incident Management.
Experience with the development and testing of a Disaster Recovery Plan.
Familiar with replication of backup data.
Past experience with an Isilon for long term data archiving.Other
