Position Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Director of
Product to own product ideation (define & build relevant products) and
innovation that drive user engagement and revenue. This person will own the roadmap development,
resource management, and overall product roadmap execution. This person will work in tandem with the
business team to make business requirements and strategy come to life through
innovative products that move the property forward. In this role, you will manage a top tier
product team, and partner with teams across Yahoo!, including a world class
development group, designers, and sales professionals.

This role will be exposed to all levels of
leadership at Yahoo!, and therefore we are seeking only top talent and
candidates with a strong track record in Product Management to fulfill this
position.

Responsibilities

  • Create & deliver innovative, forward-thinking,
    and competitive products helping to define a strong identity for Yahoo! News
    across the globe
  • Articulate
    product strategy and deliverables, both internally and externally.
  • Deliver successful media products: publishing, ad serving, social, video,
    mobile, etc.
  • Align with analytics and metrics - KPI's that drive
    business growth and engagement.
  • Work closely with matrix teams (e.g. Marketing,
    Editorial, etc.) to ensure products are successfully built and launched
  • Translate user's needs into actionable and
    innovative product requirements that can be consumed by designers and
    developers in an agile planning process.
  • Possess deep knowledge of the news business & a
    strong grasp of related business trends: players in the competitive space,
  • Leverage market, user, and competitive knowledge to
    articulate product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Manage and grow a talented product team.

    • Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of product management experience
    required in a leadership capacity managing a team of product managers.
  • Strong managerial skills building and motivating a
    team of product managers
  • Skilled at project and product planning, including
    product definition, feature prioritization, trade-off processes, and roadmap
    creation.
  • Extensive experience in all stages of how web
    products get built.
  • Ideal candidate has an MBA, with past product
    management experience in online news or similar
