Process Improvement/Lean Manufacturing Manager

Summary: Under the general direction of the WAVE Director of Manufacturing
Support, this position will be responsible for identifying, developing, and
implementing systems of continuous improvement throughout WAVE that add value
to the organization. General Responsibilities: Demonstrates leadership to
promote a safe working environment for all employees. Supports the company
8-Step Safety Process. Utilizing 6 Sigma/Lean techniques, evaluate current
manufacturing operations and utilize facility associates in order to identify
and implement process improvement and cost reduction projects. Develop and
implement process controls with the goal of streamlining operations, improving
quality and throughput while reducing internal and external waste. Utilizes
appropriate techniques and metrics to evaluate process capabilities, define
necessary improvements, and monitor results. Foster a culture of moving
forward in a change environment and continuously assuring by-in and ownership
at all levels. Lead teams of plant associates and managers in order to drive
value added improvements (cost savings) in the facilities. Manage projects
through the research, planning and implementation stages. Supports and drives
the concepts and techniques of Lean Manufacturing. Link Lean activities to the
business objectives and develop transformation plans in collaboration with
function/site leadership teams. Provide support and education in Lean
application and development to all levels of the organization. Drive
standardization of mechanical and electrical practices and procedures
throughout organization. Implement and monitor quality improvement procedures
And Practices. Skills
Process capability identified, tracked, and improved
Standardization of maintenance and electrical programs and processes Product
quality improvements as measured by internal reject rates, customer rejects as
a percent of sales and out of specification data Meet or exceed project goals
and financials. Project manager skills adherence to schedule, costs, and
performance while managing group dynamics Masters degree preferred - minimum
of bachelor degree in Engineering or Operations Management. Minimum 5 to 7
years experience in field manufacturing. International experience a plus.
Strong change management skills and experiences. Roll forming and power press
manufacturing experience is a positive. Must have strong field experience in
Process Management, Significant travel including international travel is
required. LEAN Manufacturing experience is required. Green Belt 6-Sigma (Black
Belt preferred) is required. Must have good written and verbal communication
skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to drive multiple
projects simultaneously Ability to lead, manage and communicate with all
levels of operation. Exhibit solid technical understanding in the following
engineer disciplines: Research and development, process engineering, quality
engineering and product engineering.
