Job Summary

The University of San Francisco Office of Communications and Marketing Web Communications team is seeking a Web Content/SEO Writer to join the team. The position is responsible for developing and writing web copy for the USF web presence that follows SEO best practices, communicates key University messages and fulfills USF's communications and marketing strategic goals. The ideal candidate is a team-player who is creative, articulate, collaborative and flexible.

Job Responsibilities

  • Write compelling marketing copy for university web pages that appeals to prospective student audiences, follows our brand, increases SEO and follows website best
  • Create and edit university web content, notably admission web pages, top-level academic pages, the home page, and about pages
  • Edit web content contributed by other content creators across the university, ensuring consistency of message, voice, and
  • Work closely with clients to research, develop, and write marketing copy for academic department websites that align with their marketing objectives and
  • Communicate SEO data analysis with clients and help create content optimization strategies for clients, including specific website content recommendations, use of social media, and external website
  • Monitor analytics of top-level academic and admission web pages and provide specific recommendations to improve SEM
  • Assist with development and enforcement of university web content guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Accountabilities
The Web Content/SEO Writer reports to the Web Communications Director in the Office of Communications and Marketing.

    • Minimum Qualifications

  • Understanding of and commitment to USF's Vision, Mission and
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a subject area related to English, Journalism, Communications or Marketing
  • Working knowledge of SEO keyword research and analysis
  • 3-5 years of writing and proofreading experience in a professional
  • Provide a portfolio of writing samples that demonstrates experience in writing for marketing purposes for the web, following website best practices, and SEO best practices. Be prepared to discuss audience, tone, style, and SEO techniques used in the
  • Excellent research, writing, grammar, and editorial
  • Exceptional oral and written interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse colleagues in a group setting
