This Client has asked Hallmark to help them hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong design skills as they relate to precision machines and machine tools. Our Client is a high-tech manufacturer of ultra-precision machining systems and motion platforms for the optics, defense, aerospace, consumer electronics, and semiconductor industries. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and design a wide variety of ultra-precision machines and components involving various types of slide systems, servo systems, CNC controls, feedback devices, and metrology systems. Designs are to be based upon sound principles of precision engineering. Oversee prototype designs and testing Cost effective designs for performance, serviceability, and manufacturability System error budget analysis Gas and fluid bearing design Pneumatic and hydraulic system design Simple and complex analytical system models Practical application of FEA for dynamic, structural, and thermal modeling Document technical designs using specifications, design reviews, internal reports, CAD drawings, operator, and service manuals Solid Works modeling and detailing, effective use of GD&T Perform customer and in-house technical support EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Bachelor-Ts (B.S.) and/or a Master-Ts (M.S.) degree in mechanical engineering 5+ years of experience Experience with CAD and Solidworks Strong design and analysis capabilities as they relate to precision machine tools Vibrations and dynamics as applied to structural machine elements Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a dynamic group OTHER: To view other Hallmark jobs, please go to www.HallmarkJobs.com Hallmark and our Client are Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employers.
