PeopleSoft Application Developer

Under the general direction of the Application Development Manager and current Lead Developer, the PeopleSoft Application Developer will help in the execution of the Piggly Wiggly's next generation of external/internal facing applications and maintenance of our current service level agreement with our business users. This position requires the capacity to work independently and multi-task. If you are used to being dedicated to just one project and nothing else, then this position is not for you. We are extremely fast paced and need to debug current applications in a moment's notice, then turn around and meet tight project deadlines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintaining current PeopleSoft applications
  • Gather business requirements
  • Define and document enterprise systems design and work in tandem with current development lead
  • Follow a proper SDLC, using Agile Methodologies
  • Work with team to help foster SOA designs to solve enterprise level integration problems

Essential Experience And Skills

  • Experience with relational database design and development (2-3 years minimum)
  • 5+ years of experience working with:

  • PeopleSoft HRMS/Financials 8.x or higher
    • PeopleSoft SQR

  • SQL
    • PeopleCode

  • PeoplSoft Integration Broker
    • Microsoft SQL Server (2000 or later)

  • Practical experience with N-Tier development and architectural patterns
  • Practical experience estimating and sizing development efforts
  • Experience defining, documenting, and recommending appropriate enterprise-class system architectures
  • Experience in full application lifecycle management using an iterative development approach
  • Experience with requirements gathering, Use Case Analysis, and UML diagramming (definite plus)
  • Experience with Source Control Management Systems (TFS is a plus)
  • Experience with Bug Tracking Systems (TFS is a plus)
    • Expereince with Crystal Reports is a plus
    • Experience with different types of testing in best practices environment (Unit, Integration, Regression, Load)
  • Excellent technical and business-facing communication skills, both oral and written
