Overview

Childrens Home Society has been serving children and families for more than a century, with programs built on its mission of promoting the right of every child to a permanent, safe, and loving family. Since it was founded in 1902, CHS has placed more than 14,500 children into loving, adoptive homes.

Today CHS has one of the most comprehensive and seamless offerings of child welfare and family support services in North Carolina providing programs in parenting education, family preservation, teen pregnancy prevention, foster care, and adoption - all from one agency.

Through these types of programs, CHS serves well over 12,000 clients each year, with a statewide staff and offices in nine cities across North Carolina. CHS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
