Overview

Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania formed on May 1, 2007 through the merger of Hemlock (Harrisburg), Penn Laurel (York), Penn's Woods (Wilkes-Barre), and Scranton-Pocono (Scranton) Girl Scout councils. Endorsed by the national realignment plan, Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania was among the first Girl Scout councils in the country to unite. Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania launched with a commitment to the leadership development experience where girls discover their potential, connect with others from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and take action to make their community better.
