Berkshire Bank Foundation Inc. and Berkshire Bank Foundation - Legacy Region, the charitable arms Berkshire Bank, are leaders in philanthropy and community involvement. Each year the two foundations award nearly $1.5 million to nonprofit organizations focused on education and community/economic development and award scholarships to high school seniors with a record of academic excellence, commitment to their communities and a financial need. The foundation also administers the banks Employee Volunteer Program where employees participate in group work projects to benefit the communities in which the bank does business. Last year 50% of Berkshire Banks employees donated over 26,000 hours of community service to invest in their local communities.
